On its first start from cold, the engine runs a little "lumpy" for upto about 20 seconds. We have tested all of the injectors and ran some other diagnostics but haven't been to identify the cause. The issue is clearly demonstrated in the walkaround video attached to this advert, so please watch this before enquiring. Once the engine has been revved through, it settles and then runs normally for the remainder of the day. We are still including our national coverage warranty with the vehicle for other covered faults arising during ownership. Aside from this disclosed issue, this is a very appealing V60 with excellent history, low ownership, £20 road tax, Euro 6 ULEZ compliance and an unusually good specification. 🌟 60+ Five-Star Google Reviews

About the Volvo V60

Why Buy a Volvo V60?

The Volvo V60 is a premium estate car that successfully blends Scandinavian design, impressive safety credentials, and a comfortable, refined driving experience. For UK buyers seeking a stylish and practical family car that doesn't compromise on sophistication or technology, the V60 presents a compelling proposition. It offers a more engaging driving dynamic than some rivals, while still maintaining Volvo's renowned focus on occupant protection. The interior is a masterclass in minimalist luxury, utilising high-quality materials and a logical, user-friendly layout. With a range of efficient powertrains, including mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options, the V60 caters to a variety of needs and driving styles. Its boot space is ample for most families' needs, and the sleek exterior styling ensures it stands out from the more generic offerings in the segment. If you value comfort, safety, and understated elegance, the V60 deserves serious consideration.

UK Price Guide (GBP)

Prices for the Volvo V60 vary significantly depending on the model year, condition, mileage, and specification. Below is a guide to typical used prices in the UK, sourced from various reputable automotive data providers.

Model/Year Typical Price Range (£)
V60 (Early Models, e.g., 2010-2013 petrol/diesel) £4,000 - £7,000
V60 (Mid-Life Models, e.g., 2014-2017 petrol/diesel) £7,000 - £12,000
V60 (Latest Generation, e.g., 2018-2020 Mild-Hybrid) £15,000 - £25,000
V60 Recharge (Plug-in Hybrid, e.g., 2020 onwards) £20,000 - £35,000+

Note: These prices are approximate and can fluctuate. Always check current market listings.

Specifications (Latest Generation Example)

  • Engine Options: Various petrol (e.g., T4, T5, T6) and diesel (e.g., D3, D4) engines, plus plug-in hybrid (T6/T8 Recharge).
  • Transmission: Typically 8-speed automatic.
  • Drivetrain: Front-wheel drive or All-wheel drive (AWD).
  • Fuel Economy: Varies widely by engine, but mild-hybrids offer good efficiency, while plug-in hybrids can achieve very high MPG figures on electric power.
  • Boot Space: Around 529 litres (expandable).
  • Safety: Consistently excellent Euro NCAP ratings, with features like City Safety, Pilot Assist, lane-keeping aid.

Common Issues

While Volvo generally produces reliable vehicles, some common issues can arise, particularly with older models:

  • Infotainment System Glitches: Software bugs or unresponsiveness in the central infotainment screen can occur.
  • DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) Regeneration Issues: Especially on older diesel engines, frequent short journeys can lead to DPF clogging.
  • Electrical Gremlins: Minor electrical faults, such as faulty sensors or intermittent warning lights, are not uncommon.
  • Wear and Tear on Suspension: As with any car, expect some wear on suspension components over time, particularly on higher mileage examples.
  • Battery Issues (Hybrid Models): While generally robust, hybrid batteries can degrade over many years and miles, leading to reduced electric range.

Running Costs

Running costs for a V60 are competitive within its premium class:

  • Fuel: Newer mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid models offer excellent fuel efficiency. Older diesel engines can be economical for longer journeys.
  • Insurance: Group ratings vary, but expect premiums to be typical for a premium family estate.
  • Road Tax: Varies based on CO2 emissions. Plug-in hybrids often benefit from lower or zero tax.
  • Servicing: Volvo servicing can be more expensive than mainstream brands, but their maintenance schedules are generally straightforward.
  • Maintenance: Parts are readily available, but premium components can be costly.

Variants

The Volvo V60 has been offered in several key variants over its lifespan:

  • Momentum: The entry-level trim, still well-equipped with essential features.
  • Inscription: A more luxurious trim, featuring higher-quality interior materials, more advanced features, and often a more comfortable ride.
  • R-Design: The sporty variant, characterised by a more aggressive exterior styling, firmer suspension, and sportier interior accents.
  • Recharge (T6/T8): These are the plug-in hybrid models, offering significant electric-only range and impressive performance combined with economy.
