The 2016 Triumph Tiger 1200 Explorer XRT is powered by a muscular 1215cc inline triple delivering 137 bhp and a strong 91 ft-lb of torque. It offers smooth, flexible power with plenty of low-down grunt for effortless overtakes, relaxed long-distance cruising at around 53 mpg, and a rich, throaty three-cylinder sound. As the top-spec XRT variant, it comes loaded with premium touring kit: semi-active WP suspension (TSAS) that constantly adjusts for comfort and control, electrically adjustable screen, heated grips and seats, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring, hill hold, centre stand, engine bars, and a full suite of electronics including cornering ABS, lean-sensitive traction control, multiple riding modes (including Sport), and quickshifter.

It handles with surprising agility thanks to the tubular steel frame, sharper 2016 geometry, and wide tyres - stable and composed on motorways, planted through corners, and capable on light gravel or uneven roads. The riding position is excellent for big-mile touring: upright and roomy with an 837 mm seat height, wide comfortable seat, and natural bar reach that keeps fatigue at bay even after long days in the saddle. It looks purposeful in proper adventure-touring style with sharp bodywork, high-quality finishes, and that unmistakable British build quality.
