About the Suzuki Gsx-S750
Why Buy the Suzuki GSX-S750?
Tired of the poser bikes that look fast but feel underwhelming? The Suzuki GSX-S750, affectionately known as the 'Gixxer Thou Lite', offers a potent blend of accessible power, sharp handling, and Suzuki's legendary reliability. It's a middleweight naked that punches above its weight, providing thrilling performance without the intimidating price tag or demands of a litre-bike. For riders stepping up from smaller capacity machines, the GSX-S750 is an ideal choice. Its inline-four engine provides a smooth, linear power delivery, making it manageable for less experienced riders while still offering plenty of excitement for seasoned enthusiasts. The chassis is agile and confidence-inspiring, perfect for carving through country lanes or navigating urban traffic. Factor in Suzuki's reputation for bulletproof engineering, and you've got a motorcycle that's not just fun, but also dependable. It strikes a sweet spot between outright performance and everyday usability, making it a versatile companion for commuting, weekend blasts, and even the occasional track day.UK Price Guide (GBP)

Common Issues
The GSX-S750 is renowned for its reliability, and major widespread issues are rare. However, as with any used motorcycle, it's wise to be aware of potential minor concerns:- Electrical connectors: Some owners have reported occasional issues with corroded electrical connectors, particularly on bikes that have seen extensive use in all weather conditions. Regular checks and a bit of dielectric grease can prevent this.
- Minor cosmetic wear: Being a naked bike, components like the radiator and engine casings are exposed and can pick up stone chips or minor scuffs. Check for signs of damage.
- Chain and sprockets: As with all chain-driven bikes, regular maintenance is crucial. Worn chains and sprockets are common on higher-mileage examples.
Running Costs
The GSX-S750 offers competitive running costs for its class.- Fuel Economy: Expect around 45-50 mpg depending on riding style.
- Insurance: Group 12 (approx.), but premiums will vary based on rider experience and location.
- Servicing: Suzuki's servicing intervals are generally reasonable, with major services typically due every 7,500 or 15,000 miles.
- Tyres: A set of good quality tyres will typically last between 4,000-8,000 miles depending on rider style and tyre choice.
Variants
The GSX-S750 has primarily been sold in one main format, but there have been a few notable variations:- GSX-S750: The standard naked model, which is the most common.
- GSX-S750Z: Often a special edition with different colour schemes and sometimes minor cosmetic upgrades.
- GSX-S750A (ABS): Most models sold in the UK come equipped with ABS as standard, indicated by the 'A' suffix in some markets. It's highly recommended to opt for a bike with ABS.
